2015, Adelaide.  Central Eyre Iron Project for Iron Road. Provided facilitation and cost modelling services for the capital cost contingency analysis with a workshop and @Risk Monte Carlo analysis.

2015, Melbourne.  Cranbourne Pakenham Line Upgrade Project for Public Transport Victoria. Contracted via Aquenta.  Facilitated a series of workshops and meetings to develop the risk and contingency assessment. Also contributed to the management paper for the allocation and management of contingency.

2015, Jabiru.  “Krebs Unit” Implementation Risk Assessment for Veolia. Facilitated an international team in the assessment of risk prior to recommencing operations of the water treatment plant at ERA’s Jabiru facility.

2015, Brisbane.  New Parallel Runway Project for Brisbane Airport Corporation.  Provided project risk management and safety in design services for the design phase of the runway project.

2015, Brisbane.  Channar Mine Closure Study for Rio Tinto / CMS.  Developed a process to interrogate the accuracy of the estimate in order to analyse where the most important knowledge gaps existed that could impact the estimate accuracy.  The team were able to demonstrate to the client where the priority information needs existed that would be required to achieve the desired level of study definition.

2014, Parramatta.  Impact of Flood Mitigation for Sydney Water.  Provided facilitation services for a series of workshops involving a wide range of stakeholders to assess the risks potentially created by lowering the full storage level in Warragamba Dam.

2014, Brisbane.  Mine Closure Cost Estimates for Rio Tinto.  Provided support in undertaking the Monte Carlo simulations and risk model development for a range of mines in Western Australia.

2014, Barcaldine.  Transport Network Reconstruction Project for DTMR. Facilitated a gap analysis in preparation for transition to normal TMR business.  Transitioning the program delivery model to TMR was a significant objective for the client and would allow them to have significantly improved project delivery capability into the future.

2014, Brisbane.  Roma East R&O for SP AusNet.  Provided facilitation of the capital cost risk for inclusion into the proposal documentation to be submitted to Santos.  The proposal team were able to assess the risk exposure associated with the capital cost and assess the appropriate bid strategy.

2014, Brisbane.  Bulwer Jet Terminal for BP.  Facilitated the schedule ranging workshop over a three day period with client reps from the UK and USA.  This work plus follow up analysis allowed specific areas of work shown in the schedule to receive additional attention leading to the successful achievement of the key milestone date.

2014, Brisbane.  Cooroy to Curra section D preliminary evaluation study for DTMR.  Facilitated the project wide risk register based on the existing Stage C outcomes and additional workshop contributions.  Facilitated a broad stakeholder workshop of 25 people to collectively understand the project risks associated with the freeway extension including the specific risks at the interfaces with other roads.

2014, Adelaide.  Moomba North and Gidgealpa projects for Santos.  Facilitated a series of workshops for the cost estimate and schedule ranging analysis for the upstream gas expansion projects.

2014, Brisbane.  Buckland Feasibility Study for Iron Ore Holdings.  Provide Brisbane based facilitation via high definition TV to support the project team based in Perth in undertaking a contingency analysis.  The contingency was calculated using Monte Carlo simulation.

2014, Brisbane.  Hey Point Order of Magnitude Study for Rio Tinto.  Provided facilitation services for the undertaking of a SWOT analysis with staff from Rio Tinto Alcan, Rio Tinto Technology and Innovation plus Jacobs engineering.  The team were able to identify and nominate issues for the success or otherwise of various options for consideration as the project moves towards pre-feasibility status.

2014, Brisbane.  Department of State Development, Business and Innovation risk based work plans for mining and quarries for Victorian Government.  Supported the project team in the definition for risks and the framework to be applied in the industry for risk based operations approval by the Victorian State Government.  Used a wealth of information and examples to provide ideas for the risk framework and provided guidance on suitable approaches to risk assessment.

2014, Canberra.  Base Security Improvement Project Construction risk assessment for Department of Defence.  Facilitated a series of project and construction management risk assessment workshops over several years to identify potential issues with the head contract and project delivery.  Each stakeholder was able to gain an appreciation of the scope for their counterparts and the risks that each party needed to manage which has led to greatly enhanced coordination and team cooperation.

2013, Brisbane.  Track shift Schedule Review for Vale.  Undertook a quantitative analysis of the track shifting schedules with the engineering team to determine the range of potential delays from planned and unplanned stoppages.  The work provided the client with useful information on the potential delays especially early in operations when people are not used to the equipment.

2013, Brisbane.  Gemco Eastern Leases (Groote Island) for BHPB.  Provided facilitation and support in defining the appropriate approach and criteria for the options analysis.  The workshop developed a number of decision criteria and weightings for use throughout the project.  These were applied to the selection of the most appropriate road routes to service the leases into the future.

2013, Adelaide.  Business governance risk assessment for Iron Road.  Provide stakeholder engagement to draft a preliminary risk register followed by a risk workshop to assess priorities and actions.  Provided facilitation for the risk workshop which identified many key issues and actions required to be managed for the success of the project.

2013, Parramatta.  Austral development wastewater treatment for Sydney Water.  Facilitated a review of the WWTP risk and opportunities register.  The project team were able to appreciate the key risks to the regions development and the interfaces with other stakeholders.

2013, Campbelltown.  Metro Dams Electrical Upgrade Project for Sydney Catchment Authority. Facilitation of risk and value management sessions to inform the content of the scope of change management to be undertaken in the execution stage of the project.  Subsequently undertook a range of change management activities aimed at identifying all documents and processes that require review as part of the electrification works.  The work enabled the client to understand the wider range of issues that need to be managed as part of the project.  It also enabled the staff to understand the necessary changes well in advance of the implementation phase.

2013, Brisbane.  S11D Project for Vale. Prepared and facilitated a 60 person lessons learnt workshop to identify the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis) that the project were exposed to and needed to be controlled or enhanced.

2013, Cronulla.  Replacement Tertiary Filter Valves at Cronulla WWTP for Sydney Water. Facilitated the project delivery risk workshop for the project.  The team identified a range of logistics, scheduling and construction risks that need to be addressed in the tender documentation that will provide for a more accurate tender response.

2013, Canberra.  Cox Peninsula Remediation for Department of Finance and Deregulation. Facilitation of the risk register to identify the potential key cultural and execution issues to be managed in remediating the environment to the west of Darwin in the Northern Territory.

2013, Brisbane.  Hay Point Stacker/Reclaimer Replacement for BMA.  Provided facilitation of the constructability review for the study.  The team were able to focus on the construction methodology and modularisation strategy which enabled the identification of areas requiring further resolution.

2013, Melbourne.  Engineering management systems gap analysis for Powercor.  Interrogate the Powercor systems to identify processes and procedures to meet the requirements of the National Safety and Health obligations and followed up with senior design staff using interviews to confirm any gap.  Identified 25 recommendations to improve the organisation’s systems and provide practical advice on strategies for Powercor to consider.

2013, Brisbane.  Corporate risk register for SKM.  Development, review and maintenance of the SKM corporate risk register with risk committee stakeholders each year since 2008.

2012, Canberra.  Nauru Processing Facility Project Management Services for Department of Immigration and Citizenship.  Developed the risk management plan and provided risk assessment facilitation services to support the SKM and Canstruct management teams who were establishing the facilities on Nauru.  Facilitation of the risk register for the extremely sensitive Federal Government project enabled the client and SKM team to achieve a shared understanding of each other’s risks.  The workshops with the constructor enable an improved mobilisation to site.

2012, Brisbane.  Rockhampton Hospital Stage 1B for Department of Health.  Provided risk workshop facilitation services to the SKM project team in reviewing the design for safety and operational risks.  Facilitation of the safety in design workshop provided an opportunity for the design team to confirm and identify the controls required to minimise design risks.  A range of actions were identified which have improved implementation of the design solution.

2012, Brisbane.  S11D Project for Vale. Provided risk workshop facilitation services to the SKM project team in reviewing the design for safety and operational risks.  A series of interviews and mini workshops enabled this project to gain a better understanding of the design risks and importantly the actions that are achievable to minimise the design risks.

2012, Canberra.  Molonglo Zone Sub-station 132v switchgear options analysis for ActewAGL.  Facilitated a multi-criteria analysis workshop for the selection of 132kV switchgear.  Multiple stakeholder understanding of the relative benefits and risks associated with multiple design technology options was collated using Multi Criteria Analysis and using agreed protocols allowed a single technology option to stand out as the overall preferred solution and the reasons for the preference.

2012, Perth.  Fremantle Bridge for Main Roads WA. Facilitated a value management exercise for the proposed new Fremantle road and rail bridges.  The Fremantle Bridge study has undergone numerous iterations over the years and this workshop provided a means to understand the risks but aim to identify the value add for potential solutions and how to best find a viable and suitable solution.

2012, Brisbane.  South of Embley Bauxite Project for Bechtel.  Safety in design reviews over 2 years for the marine facilities, mine access road and mine infrastructure areas.  Rio Tinto are proposing to establish a new operation at Weipa for mining bauxite and required a range of workshops to identify potential design risks and generate mitigations to manage each risk.

2012, Canberra.  Base security Improvement Program (BSIP) for Department of Defence. Facilitated a series of value management workshops for the improvements to the existing base security arrangements at and a number of facilities.  The Value Management workshops enabled the design and management team to confirm and adjust design elements to maximise the value for money.

2012, Canberra.  Risk Management Framework Advice for Department of Defence.  Provided the Defence Estate team with support for the development of the estate risk management framework.  Assisted with defining the context prior to the project being merged within the broader Defence framework.  Chris Beale was selected to be the external support consultant assisting the client in their review and development of the estate risk management framework.

2012, Perth.  North West Iron Ore feasibility study for North West Iron Ore Alliance. Facilitated the contingency analysis for the $2 billion rail and port facilities at Port Headland.

2012, Brisbane.  Linkfield Road Business Case for DTMR.  Undertook the project delivery risk assessment for the future expansion of Linkfield Road as part of the broader Gympie Road extension.  Undertook regular reviews of the risks associated with the outcomes from the study as the infrastructure is critical to the development of the north side of Brisbane.

2011, Brisbane.  Board level risk assessment for OSD Pipelines.  Facilitation of the company’s Board level operations risk assessment.  The company now applies valuable risk management processes to their bid selection, project delivery and corporate governance.

2011, Brisbane.  Gympie Road: feasibility planning for preliminary evaluation of options for DTMR. Facilitated a multi-stakeholder risk workshop to identify the key issues for the Gympie Rd planning study including a follow up risk ranking session.  Developed the risk management plan and ran a series follow up workshops and the close out session.
